If we truly want to change our behavior, if we want to live a better and more ethical life, we have to know that the stuff we put out into the world will have a negative impact on our health and well-being. The amount of garbage that goes into our waterways is a clear indication that we can’t control what is in our landfills.
Trash is actually a pretty big problem on our planet. Each year the garbage is one of the leading causes of death on our planet. People with an active lifestyle dump a lot of our garbage in the ocean that we don’t even know the contents of. All over the world, we see people with no control over what goes into their landfills dumping massive amounts of plastic trash in the ocean.
In the United States, there are more plastic bags per capita than any other country in the world. The average person handles 25 bags per year and the average person on Deathloop handles 10. Each person on the island gets their own bag, with each bag holding a different color of plastic. The bags themselves are made of clear plastic that has been dyed and sealed off to make them look like trash.
The bags take on different colors because they’re made from a different material than the plastic trash. By coloring them separately, as well as by having different clear colors for each bag, they create a sense of familiarity. With each bag, they’re keeping track of the specific way that the trash was taken from the ocean. By having each person on Deathloop have their own bag, they’re also keeping track of their own trash.
Even if you’re not on the island, you can still find the trash by looking for the plastic bags that have been dyed. The bags will usually have different colors, which means you’re looking for the bags that have been dyed. When you open the bag, you’ll see a bag color that matches the one you found the trash in.
